The Summer gives you two options: you can use the top layer as a sheet by itself for warm nights when an entire sleeping bag isn’t necessary, or if it gets a little bit cooler, you can simply turn the bag over and put the insulated bottom “on top”. Now you don’t have to pack two separate bags if the weather is going to vary while you’re on your trip.

A thin top sheet is ideal for warm evenings, and for cooler nights you can flip the bag over to cover yourself with the insulated bottom half. The two-pound, seven-ounce Summer Lake is a rectangular-style sleeping bag designed for summer camping. Measuring 33-by-80 inches (W x D), the versatile bag offers two sleep options. For warm nights, you can use the top layer as a sheet by itself when an entire sleeping bag isn’t necessary. Or, if it gets a bit cooler, simply flip the bag over and put the insulated bottom on top to keep you warm.

Cool concept Bag seems to be made properly with nothing screaming “cheap” upon inspection. Nice idea have two different sides so that you can adjust a bit for the temperature. As with pretty much all sleeping bags, I would recommend using it with a pad or mattress. There is a little cushioning on one side, and none on the other. Bag is lightweight and packs compactly. Great for hikers and backpackers. As mentioned in the description and in other reviews, this is obviously not a cold weather bag. For sub 50s…

Good idea I thought these sleeping bags were a really good idea when I saw them. I still do, but I didn’t realize the following:You can’t zip two bags together because the sleeping bags won’t line up right. This is obvious now, it just didn’t occur to me before buying so I tried not to count that in the rating. They also feel weird when you slide sideways in the night, because you can feel the change from the cool, thin side to the thicker, warm side. Finally the thin, summer side is not…
