Lifesaver during extended power outages. The best part about this portable energy pack is that it can be powered with replaceable four D batteries. The rechargable accessory unit might be useful for a short period, but it is of no use if household power stays out for an extended period, whereas D batteries can be replaced as often as necessary. This unit recharged my iPhone (since I didn’t want to rely on my car for several days) but disappointed it will not recharge a laptop.
Lots of power in a tiny package The pictures of the Energy Pack make it look bigger than it really is. Imagine two soda cans placed side-by-side. That’s about the length and height of it. Width is a little wider than a single soda can. It almost looks like a giant computer mouse.The Energy Pack takes four D batteries so it is a bit heavy. The batteries slide into a cartridge which slides into the Energy Pack. Loading the batteries was a slight hassle since the cartridge isn’t clearly marked with battery…
