Compact in design, the Generac iX2000 gas-powered portable inverter generator (model 5793) is designed for life on the road. Its durable, lightweight design with built-in handle offers portable power for camping, tailgating, and recreational use. The iX2000 features inverter technology that reduces the size, weight, and noise of the generator and allows for the engine to run at varying speeds, significantly reducing the noise and fuel consumption levels. And its special electronic microprocessor can also provide safe, stable power for sensitive electronic devices such as computers.

The iX2000 provides a reliable 2,000-watt power supply wherever you need it and a maximum power output of 2,200 watts, and yet it’s 40 percent lighter than a standard generator of equal wattage output. It features Generac’s FlexPower technology, which provides two modes of operation: High Mode for large loads or battery charging, and an Eco Mode to save fuel and reduce noise.

Note for California residents: This model is not CARB-compliant. Units sold to California must be CARB-compliant.

The case is fully enclosed for quiet operation–making it campground friendly–and its integrated handle makes it easy to move from car to camp site. It’s equipped with a 4-stroke, 126-cc OHV (overhead valve) engine, which features a low-oil shutdown system to prevent engine damage and keep the generator in good shape for long-term use.

This generator’s 1-gallon resin tank will give you up to 4.7 hours of operation at a 50-percent load. Other features include splash lubrication, 12-volt battery charging capability, and electronic overload protection. It’s backed by a 2-year residential warranty, and a 6-month warranty when used for commercial purposes.

How Inverter Technology Works

Inverter generators utilize a different type of alternator than standard generators to generate AC power. The raw power produced is converted from DC to AC power by a computer-controlled inverter module. The engine speed varies depending on the electrical demand, which significantly reduces noise and fuel consumption compared to a standard portable generator. The end result is a portable generator with reduced weight and size, and power that is ultra-clean and capable of safely powering sensitive electronics.

Generac ix2000 is worthless junk All I have recently received a Generac IX 2000 inverter generator. It was received as a replacement for my honeywell 2000i which was very hard starting (20-40 pulls).First impressions:The Generac was much lighter than the honeywell (about 10lbs lighter) It also looks a little better in my opinion. The build quality is also nicer, the plastic is definitely a bit thicker.I have done some initial break in runs at no load or very light load…

Expect this product to be broken on arrival If you read the other reviews, you will notice that there is definitely an issue with the choke lever. After I received this generator, there was also an issue with the choke lever being broken off right out of the box. This is a nice little generator and I personally think Generac is a good brand. I have had no negative issues with the company or it’s products in the past but this is certainly a KNOWN issue by now. Generac and Amazon obviously know about this choke lever problem. I think…

generac ix 2000 portable generator We purchased two ix 2000 generators. The first one the choke was broken and lying in the box. Also the generator comes with a quart of oil. The oil container was opened and empty. The generator started and sounded awful. It ran for about 30 mins and never ran again. We got a replacement one through amazon the second one came in the box covered in oil. The quart of oil was full and unopened. I don’t understand where the oil came from but it was all over and inside the generator. And this…
